Zanzibar Spice Tour

Delve into the captivating history of "Spice Island" and uncover what made Zanzibar a melting pot of cultures, religions, and cuisines!

In the morning, we'll pick you up from your hotel anywhere in Zanzibar and take you to the renowned spice farms.

Along the way, you'll discover the island's rich and diverse history.

Ancient sailors were the first to report islands filled with tantalizing scents, while Arab traders were visiting Zanzibar’s islands—Pemba and Unguja—as early as the 8th century to trade spices.

On this tour, you'll learn how the island earned its "Spice Island" nickname in the 15th century and gain insights into the cultivation and harvesting of various spice plants.

You'll uncover the historical significance of spices like pepper and cloves, and you may be surprised to learn that the nutmeg wrapper is a spice with its own unique uses. Cinnamon, known as the "queen of spices," not only captivates the senses with its fragrance but also boasts a range of healing properties.

And, just to leave you intrigued, we won’t spoil all the spices you'll have the chance to smell, touch, observe, and taste!
